Supporting a reporter and conducting a fair process aren’t opposites
Institutions can offer safety measures, information, and trauma-informed support while preserving a process that tests claims and evidence. Framing those obligations as mutually exclusive often leaves people reporting harm without help or turns fairness into a slogan. The episode's context makes both responsibilities important, even when they're difficult to balance.
