Listen. Then get into it.
Alberta O. Jones was the first Black woman prosecutor in Louisville, Kentucky, and she helped register thousands of Black citizens to vote. On Aug. 5, 1965, she was found dead in the Ohio River after going out late to visit a close friend. Her death has gone unsolved for decades, with theories ranging from a random robbery to retaliation for her civil rights work.
