Historical gaps aren’t automatically evidence of survival
No bodies were reportedly found, and the family spent decades believing the children survived. Missing records or remains can create uncertainty, but uncertainty alone doesn't prove an alternative explanation. Which inconsistency would count as affirmative evidence rather than merely a limitation of a 1945 investigation?
