Dan Houser is the co-founder of Rockstar Games and the creative mind behind Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption. He walks through making GTA 3, GTA 4, GTA 5, GTA 6, and Red Dead Redemption 2, plus Rockstar's culture of excellence and why he left. He also covers his new work at Absurd Ventures, including A Better Paradise and American Caper, and asks whether LLMs can write video games. To close, he shares life lessons from his father, thoughts on mortality, and where video games are headed.
