How would we measure AI increasing human capability?
A tool can raise short-term output while weakening independent skill, or scaffold learning that persists after the tool is removed. Fei-Fei Li's human-centered framing makes that distinction important. What measure would show that AI improved someone's capability over time – transfer, retention, creativity, judgment, or something else – rather than creating permanent dependence?
